Toyota Lust!
I have been happy with the Matrix for about five years now. I never expected to want anything else for a long time; I’ve been very happy with my car, and living in the city for the whole of the past five years, we’ve been through some wars together (especially when it comes to double parking, which I just can’t seem to master at all; I try to park in front of open air restaurants so people will help guide me into the space), and I have a lot of affection for the old girl. She’s pretty dinged up, but she’s still my Matrix.
But now Toyota just came out with the Venza, and it’s like, “Here, Mark. You’ve been working hard for five years. You’re upgrading to a slightly bigger apartment, don’t you want a larger, comfier version of your favorite car to upgrade to as well?” I’ll admit it; I’m listening to the siren song. It just looks so nice and snazzy and shiny, especially compared to my car (I admitted it, it’s dinged). I know that I’m a total sucker for Toyota OEM parts, so I’d never buy outside the brand. Really, it’s just that it’s practically the same car except newer, better, faster, and stronger. How does that sound like a bad thing?
